Meas Soksophea
Meas Soksophea is a very well known Cambodian singer. Her sweet yet powerful vocals have traveled and captured the hearts of Cambodian people both young and old across the globe. Her unique vocals can sing classical and traditional Cambodian tunes, as well as modern day pop and R&B. Since the beginning of her career in 2004, she has worked with over twenty different productions, both locally and overseas. Through her work with the music industry and her work out in the community, Meas Soksophea has become an idol and role model for many Cambodian people.
As a reward of hard work and massive support from her fans, Meas Soksophea was nominated and received an award for “Young Singer with the Most Beautiful Voice” from the Anachakdara 2011-2012 Awards Ceremony. Meas Soksophea says it was one of the greatest and memorable moments in her life. In early 2013, Meas Soksophea received another award from Anachakdara, “The Best Female Pop Singer with the Greatest Voice.” All of these awards indicate that master Cambodian singers and musicians, who were judges for the Anachakdara Awards have accepted her talent and work.
Today, there is an evolution occurring within Cambodian music. Meas Soksophea has joined the evolution to help change Cambodian pop music of today and take it to a whole new level. She has been working to produce new music and new sounds to give her listeners fresh, new sounds that are all original works.
